Bailey visits a bored Meredith in an attempt to get her to agree to come back, but Meredith only does so when Webber drops by and convinces her not to do this to her career just because of him. April, Webber, Alex, and Jo get caught in a moral dilemma when a mother's only kidney dies in the middle of a kidney transplant to her son. A possible solution means accepting a kidney from the abusive husband whom the patient left, which hits close to home for Jo.
