Explicații Wikipedia: En route to the planet Vulcan to pick up its new captain after Gabriel Lorca betrayed the crew during the Federation–Klingon War, the USS Discovery receives a distress call from the USS Enterprise. Captain Christopher Pike takes emergency command of Discovery, explaining that the Enterprise suffered catastrophic damage while investigating seven mysterious signals scattered across the galaxy. Six of the signals have since disappeared, as does the seventh when Discovery arrives at its location. The crew discovers the wreckage of the USS Hiawatha, which was believed to have been lost during the war, on an asteroid composed of non-baryonic matter. Inside they find chief engineer Jett Reno nursing the last survivors. Commander Michael Burnham, having seen a "red angel" while on the asteroid, visits the Enterprise to search the quarters of her foster brother Spock, who Pike reveals is on a leave of absence from Starfleet.
