Barnes's final witness, the guard from Emily's jail block, falsely testifies overhearing a confession by Emily during Alice's visit, which causes chaos in the courtroom. Mason travels to an address procured by Street far out of the city, finding a man named Jim Hicks. He tells Mason that he has been waiting for him.
