With the help of Valerie Raymond, the ship tricks the blockade and escapes before facing off with the Achilles which has secretly set up a shore missile battery. While spreading their new "contagious cure" to locals, Slattery's team learns of the battery and launches an attack to take control of it. Nathan James suffers heavy damage in the battle, leaving the ship with only its forward deck gun operational and with limited ammunition. Nathan James lures the Achilles close to shore where combined fire from the captured missile battery and the deck gun finally sinks the rogue submarine, taking with it the Ramsey brothers. Completing the victory is the success of the contagious cure.
