Explicații Wikipedia: Before she leaves for college, Maddie admits to Bosch that she sent Tom's memo to Chandler before the hearing. She explains that she needs time away from Bosch and his cases. Bosch determines that Chandler leaked information about the Borders case to Anderson herself, in a gambit for standing. He brings Irving a duplicate of the crime scene photo proving the seahorse pendant was planted in Borders' apartment, inquiring who could have planted it. Irving shreds the duplicate in front of Bosch, confirming his own guilt while permanently burying the evidence. Pierce and Vega find their dismembered victim's head and hands hidden in the abandoned apartment, with a marking that connects it to another ongoing RHD case. The department throws Barrel a surprise retirement party, where he admits that he has decided not to retire after all. Walsh and his last two men sneak into Bosch's house to assassinate him, but Bosch thwarts and kills all three in the ensuing shootout. Edgar ruminates on the Gary Wise case and the connection to Jacques Avrile, who cannot be arrested or tried in the States for his crimes in Haiti. He confronts Marcos and Arias about their corruption and involvement with the murder, and the detectives reply with veiled threats confirming his suspicions. Irving announces his run for mayor. Bosch finds Elizabeth again, and she rejects his attempts to "save" her. Now aware that he's a cop, she reminds him that the police failed to solve her daughter's murder. Troubled by this, Bosch reopens the cold case.
