Explicații Wikipedia: With both Madeline and Weitz gone, there's no one to currently run the FBI until the interim director arrives. While the team waits, they continue to search for Ivy and the ZIP canisters before they can be used. Weller gives a speech to the rest of the FBI members that they have to stop the ZIP canisters from being used. Both Patterson and Rich realize that Madeline had the services of her own hacker, which is revealed to be Kathy, who in turn agrees to help Ivy find the canisters and weaponize the ZIP. Kathy arrives at the FBI office claiming she wants to help the team find the canisters and take down Ivy, but Patterson and Rich know they can't trust her and is likely being used as a decoy for Ivy to gain access into the FBI. Kathy attempts to hack into Madeline's Darkcloud server but finds that someone already has access to it, which turns out to be Boston who is being forced to do so at gunpoint by Ivy. Rich and Patterson, along with Kathy, go to save Boston, who is standing on a pressure plate bomb. All three work to defuse the bomb. Kathy switches places with Boston since he's having trouble defusing the bomb. She pretends to sacrifice herself and let the bomb go off, only to use it as a means of escape. The interim FBI director, Arla Grigoryan, arrives and demands that Jane, Weller and Zapata stand down and stop following Ivy. They disobey that order and go to take down Ivy to stop her from preparing the bomb. They're too late and Jane finds the bomb has already gone off and the ZIP gas is released. To prevent anyone else from getting infected, she activates the airlock doors, trapping her in the room while Weller helplessly watches from outside the room.
